Petaling Street, A Good Thing or A Bad Thing

Petaling Street is a place filled with stalls and shops that sells everything from foods to drinks, clothes to shoes, bags to toys, and many more. Many locals like to shop there because it is cheap but the things sold are fake. Petaling Street is also a tourist spot. Sad to say, tourist are more likely to be cheated because the sellers and owners of the shop will quote a higher price towards tourist then the locals.

Petaling Street

Petaling Street reduces government income in the sense that there are no taxes implied. Government doesn’t receive any income from there. Petaling Street also causes the original manufacturers to lose in profit as many will buy the fake goods instead of the real one. The demand for fake goods will increase while the demand for original goods will drop. This creates imbalanced sales towards the original manufacturers.

Watch Stall

Buyers will not feel secured as what they buy is fake and there will be no warranty. The goods that are sold are normally not in good quality therefore it will spoil easily and the buyers can do nothing about it. They couldn’t complain or demand for a change or even refund because what they bought have no warranty and most importantly its fake.
